The Great Sunflower Project

I am anxiously waiting for my seeds to show up so I can participate in this study. I'm ready to count some bees!

It's easy! They ask you to grow sunflowers (they supply the seeds) and then count the bees for a half hour. Then report our result. Easy! And important. Without bees, we don't have food. Without food, we die.
Don't think you don't have enough room to grow a sunflower! Even if you live in an apartment, you can grow this in a pot! Come on, join in on the fun!

Another great thing about sunflowers (besides the bees and the fact that they're pretty) - they have a deep tap root and if you have compacted soil, they do a great job of breaking it up. Yay sunflowers!
