It's been an interesting week an a half at the homestead. Boy oh boy.
Let me introduce you to Squeak. In this photo she is hiding under covers... something that she has never done.
Squeak is the Lovey's 14 year old cat. He's had her since she was 4 or 5 weeks old. She was part of a ferel litter that was rescued, and the Lovey has had her ever since.
Squeak's personality is, um, ..... special. She doesn't particularly like humans, other cats (except for her 'dad' - 15 year old OD whom she curls up with. When she's not with OD, she can be found underneath the bathroom sink, curled up in a cabinet on some old towels.
She has been a healthy cat... never sick a day in her life. Until last week. She has been diagnosed with a mass in her lung - 90% positive that it's malignant. Less than 25 hours later, Squeak had a stroke, can't move her hind quarters, so the poor thing can't walk. The lung issue has taken second priority to her paralysis.
So, what's a guy to do? Look at this face. She's been the F-you cat and now is so dependant on us, it is just SO very sad. Since the initial diagnosis last week, she has regained slight movement in one of her back legs. We are hoping that strength and movement will continue in that back leg so she can be a 3-legged 'hop-along' cat. Then we could possibly deal the lung issue. At least that's the plan right now.
Next vet appointment is Friday. Wish Squeakers luck!

I hope Squeak starts to perk up soon, it's so hard to see kitties sick.
